Our mobile is completely full of photos or videos. Within the different albums in our gallery, everything that we have captured comes together, with screenshots or those photos that have been sent to us in apps such as WhatsApp or Telegram, as well as those that we have downloaded. On many occasions it is not convenient for all the albums to be visible to anyone, so Huawei phones allow you to hide this content easily.
On our site we have seen some options to hide photos and other files on Huawei phones, using for example the Safe. However, nothing is easier than using EMUI’s own Gallery, when what we want is to hide a specific album. In this way, it will appear that that specific folder does not exist, which prevents that when accessing our Gallery when someone else is looking at the screen, they do not see what we do not want.
How to hide gallery albums
In order to hide the albums we will have to enter the Photo Gallery. Once inside, in the preview where all of them are seen, we will have to click on the three vertical points that are in the upper right part of the menu. Once done, we will have to click on “Hide albums”. Now we can choose those that we want to hide by marking them one by one. After activating the boxes of each album and returning, we will see that they no longer appear in the Gallery.
Show them again
However, hidden albums can be shown again in the gallery overview. We will just have to retrace our steps, entering the gallery options again and unchecking the hidden albums again.
Aspects to consider
This method is not totally foolproof in some respects. That is, EMUI allows us to hide the albums created by us or those generated by third-party applications such as WhatsApp, Facebook or photo editors. However, we will not be able to hide system applications such as Videos, My Favorites, Captures or Camera.
One thing you must keep in mind, and that is that not all albums can be hidden . We can do it with any album created by us and by third-party applications (WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, Telegram …), but not with system folders such as Videos, Camera, Captures or My favorites. To achieve a deeper concealment, we may have to make use of a function such as Private Space.
